How much do new Energy Efficient Replacement Windows cost in Dallas?
Unfortunately, "How much do new windows cost" is an impossible question to
answer without first seeing the home. Adams - Home Replacement Windows / Dallas would like to get the ball rolling by offering a Free / NO PRESSURE Window Estimate.
How large are your windows? Do any require building code considerations (glass tempering charges)? Are there rounded "arch top" or "eyebrow" windows that might be considered specialty windows? What color or grid pattern would you like?
Here is a rule of thumb: quality windows are rarely cheap. Be leery of "news paper" window deals ($189.00 / Any Window). These companies often rely on the polished but unethical skills of pushy salespeople to sell their poorly made product. Once these sharks have their hand in your pocket, its difficult to remove. Be careful.
Here is our best advice: Come into the showroom and talk to us. Let us show you the difference between a quality energy-efficient window and a poorly made "knock-off". See firsthand how vinyl windows perform next to aluminum or wood windows. Ask questions, learn and then talk to our competition armed with a working knowledge of the product that you're interested in. Of course we want to earn your work - give us a chance and you won't be disappointed.
Vinyl, Aluminum or Wood - Which Window is Best?
Energy Efficient Vinyl Cost:
Vinyl Windows are far more Energy Efficient than Aluminum and far less maintenance than Wood.
Vinyl Windows were once an expensive option. Now, as the window industry reacts to customers who are increasingly interested in lowering their utility costs - the price of Vinyl has dropped dramatically.
Cons: Vinyl Windows are offered in a very limited amount of colors.
Energy Efficient AluminumCost:
Out-dated, inefficient and now EXPENSIVE. The end is near for this highly conductive building material. On a 90 degree day, an aluminum frame can exceed 200 degrees. Every day the frames expand and contract and the seals bake.
Although Aluminum windows can be painted, they scratch easily.
Cons: Even "Energy Efficient" Aluminum isnt nearly as efficient as Vinyl or Wood.
Energy Efficient Wood WindowsCost:
For those who can afford it, Wood is without question the PREMIUM building product for windows. Wood windows are more attractive and Energy Efficient than Vinyl or Wood - hands down.
Wood windows are now offered with "Aluminum Cladding" that protects the exterior from the elements and the inside can be painted or stained.
Cons: Quality wood window are VERY expensive and HIGH MAINTENANCE.
How long do you have?
Your existing home windows will never stop breaking down. The summer day sun heats the aluminum to ridiculous temperatures, melting the seals that eventually re-congeal when the temperature drops that evening. This event takes place every day... week after week... melting and re-congealing... month after month...
this will not stop.
Eventually, the outer seal completely fails and the elements begin to work on the seal that "glues" the two panes of glass together (if you have double pane glass). Once this secondary seal fails, the window will either collect moisture between the glass or it will become "cloudy" and impossible to see through. Window leaks and total window failure isn't far behind.
New construction / Aluminum windows were never meant to last. They are used because they're cheap and until recently most homeowners didn't care. However, now that there is an alternative option even the new construction market is looking more closely to efficient vinyl windows.
