Where wood rots and why

Exterior wood rots where water sits: fascia behind overflowing gutters, trim at the bottom of door frames, window sills and the lowest courses of wood siding. We cut out the soft wood, replace it, prime every side and paint to match.

Fixing the cause is part of the job. If gutters are overflowing or a sill is pitched toward the house, we’ll point it out so the new wood doesn’t rot the same way.
