Granbury’s historic overlay districts
Granbury’s zoning ordinance sets up two historic overlay districts and a Historic Preservation Commission to review work in them.
Do I need approval for exterior work in Granbury’s historic districts?
Often, yes.
Details: The Historic Preservation Commission, made up of local merchants and homeowners, reviews certain architectural and aesthetic changes within the overlay districts, using the city’s adopted design guidelines. Owners apply with a Certificate of Appropriateness application by the deadlines on the Commission’s calendar, and meetings are held at City Hall. Community Development administers the guidelines and works with owners on applications.
