Is it different in a Denton historic district?
Yes. A Certificate of Appropriateness comes first.
Details: Exterior repairs, alterations and visible changes in the Oak-Hickory, West Oak Area and Bell Avenue local historic districts need a Certificate of Appropriateness. The Historic Preservation Officer can approve minor maintenance; bigger projects go to the Historic Landmark Commission, and no building permit is issued until the certificate is approved.
