Do I need a permit to re-roof in Garland?
Yes, and for repairs of $2,000 or more.

The city asks for a copy of the signed contract or the insurance adjuster’s scope. Changing roof pitch needs detailed plans, changing roof material needs a permit and documentation, and metal roofing must be 26 gauge or heavier.
